2010 Anti-List (Part One)

While I really enjoy other people’s end of year lists, I have always been hopeless at putting mine together. I’m not one of those “You can’t rank art!” people, but I am pretty indecisive, and prone to moments of insecurity, where I worry that if I haven’t listened to every single major music release in a year, then how can I be in a position to judge an album of the year? What is a session beer?

Today has been a worthwhile and constructive day. I have been taking part in a discussion on defining what actually constitutes a ‘session beer’, with ideas floating around Twitter and the likes of Double Word Score.

There seems to be some disagreement over whether the definition should be set by the strength of the beer, or by something more fluid. Get it? Fluid? Hah. My material is gold, I tell you. Read the rest of this entry »

A half of Hospital Porter please…

Howdy folks. A couple of World Cup-free days to recharge the batteries and reflect that…well, maybe it was time I posted something that is not about football. I mean, the second round games were pretty entertaining, and there is still a lot to look forward to, plus away from the World Cup my beloved Liverpool have a new manager in Roy Hodgson, which is an encouraging appointment (although I’m reserving judgement), and can pre-season training really have started already, but wasn’t this meant to be a blog post about something, anything, other than football?
