Friday Jukebox: Bang Chhub Thveu Khos Hoeuy

So, after a surprisingly positive response to Soviet jazz-funk last week, I figured I’d try some Cambodian psych rock. Earlier in the week I read this piece about lost Cambodian rock and roll and the documentary that has been made about it – Don’t Think I’ve Forgotten. The film chronicles Cambodian pop and rock in the 1960s and early 1970s, the terrible effect of the Khmer Rogue regime on those who created that music, and how those musicians have been rediscovered in recent years. It is right up the top of my ‘to watch’ list now.
