I think that suburbia can have a reputation for being impersonal, lacking a sense of community or togetherness. I suspect that is sometimes part of the appeal. I also suspect that you can feel just as isolated in cities or villages or any other metropolitan area. Read the rest of this entry »

A walk to the station #9

As an enthusiastic but inexperienced gardener I take a keen interest in the front gardens I see on my walk to work. I’ve read that one way of finding out what will grow well in your own garden is to see what is thriving in other gardens nearby. That seems like a sensible notion. Read the rest of this entry »
