JFK and Without JFK

Kennedy amongst a crowd

The old cliché was that everyone remembered where they were when they heard JFK had been shot. That is far less relevant as the years go on. The obvious reason is that there are fewer people about who can remember that day in 1963. The Instinct

In the absence of a real post, here is another video. It is a rather lovely, and rather long piece from Mark McGuire and is well worth your time. There’s something quite hypnotic about it, with a very slow build that manages to keep your attention whilst avoiding slipping into mood music/ambient clichés. While the production is very clean there is something almost nostalgic about it, or at least something not too far from 70s Eno/Tangerine Dream etc. Maybe it is cinematic, or maybe the video is just pretty. Anyway, thank goodness for video embedding on WordPress – the functionality that allows me to keep a reasonably regular posting schedule without having to actually write anything.
