So, all that beer talk gave me quite the thirst. And boy did I go to town satisfying it last night. It was a friend’s birthday, and he is probably the most beer-geeky of my friends. He appreciates a good drink, and I appreciate that. The night was going swimmingly enough, but we were ending up in the kind of trendy bars where you might get a fancy lager, but you’re unlikely to come across anything more interesting. Upon asking the question, “What do you do, then?” surely the most chilling words us bloggers can hear are:
“I’m a writer.”
This is not going to end well. If they genuinely are, we are consumed by a combination of admiration and envy. If it turns out they write blurbs for catalogues or other such hackery, then we are beyond annoyed.
After all, we write. We write regularly, on all manner of subjects. And we care about what we write.

Today has been a worthwhile and constructive day. I have been taking part in a discussion on defining what actually constitutes a ‘session beer’, with ideas floating around Twitter and the likes of Double Word Score.

I think what I like about WordPress most is the way the platform helps foster communities and encourages networking amongst its users.
