Wait until next year

Putting off what could be done tomorrow, today

Coming back to the baseball (after the All-Star break and other distractions)

Tim Lincecum of the San Francisco GiantsBaseball returned last night after its annual All-Star break. And I returned to baseball this morning, after all that World Cup madness squeezed it out for a month or so.

Baseball, perhaps more than any other sport, marks the passing of time particularly strongly, from the hope of Spring Training to the play-offs marking a year near its end. The All-Star break symbolically marks the season at its halfway mark, and there is something rather sad about that. Is summer already on its way out – even though it is only July? Holland versus Spain: A preview of sorts (World Cup Braindump #13)

Not long to go now until the 2010 World Cup Final – Holland versus Spain. I’m rather chuffed that I had backed both sides prior to the tournament, and stand to make a little money no matter who wins. But beyond that, and more importantly, I’m looking forward to what should be a fascinating game. Read the rest of this entry »
