Wait until next year

Putting off what could be done tomorrow, today

Just your standard YouTube plundering filler

Time is tight today, but still thought I’d note that I’m very much looking forward to the new album from Hospitality. From what I’ve heard it could well be my go-to indie album for the summer. Which is a nice thought on a cold January afternoon. Anyway, enjoy the track (which has already become a bit of an earworm for me) and I may well report back on the album if I can get hold of it, find the time/inspiration etc…

Live Alone

I’m fully aware that I’m probably the 53,821st blogger to stick this song up on his/her blog, but y’know I was busy before Christmas and this is my party and I’ll put up flogged-to-death videos if I want to. Top Two Albums of 2011

Man holding record proudly, in record shop.

It’s what you’ve all (not all, maybe some, probably none) been (maybe, maybe not) waiting for! My albums of the year! 300 not out…and an early Christmas present

A couple with their Christmas shopping. They look pretty happy about it.

Well, somehow I’ve reached the 300 post mark. I believe this to be a triumph of quantity over quality, but thought I’d mark it anyway. And as this blogging lark wouldn’t be nearly as much fun without my small-but-perfectly-formed band of readers and commenters, I thought I’d offer you all an early Christmas present. So, clickity-click the link below for access to a little Christmas music mix. I hope you enjoy it. And thanks for hanging around!

Top Two Songs of 2011

Man singing in the 1970s. He has wonderful sideburns.

Argh, this is difficult. I haven’t even begun, and I’m having trouble. The whole Top Two concept kind of counters any concerns that lists are arbitrary, or crude, or an excuse for me to just be plain lazy with my blogging. Yet I’m now worrying about methodology and definitions and suchlike. I’m pretty sure reading this blog post about how The Wire magazine compiles its end-of-year lists didn’t help. Who knew voting and categorisation and the like could be so complicated? Read the rest of this entry »
