A smash and grab operation in John Lewis’ did the trick. Not a real smash and grab, I hasten to add. I’m no criminal. I now need to plan my second, and hopefully final mission. I think I can only manage Christmas shopping in reasonably short bursts, before my sense of Christmas spirit starts to wane. There’s only so many angry and impatient shoppers I can bare to dodge.
